Terminate Windows Programs with xKill

18 October, 2008 (11:42 am) | Windows

xKill for Windows is a clone of the Linux/Unix program of the same name. It allows you to terminate another program by simply clicking on it. After you run xKill, you can press Control + Alt + Backspace to change the cursor into a Skull and Crossbones symbol. Now, when you click on any window, the application will terminate. Press Escape if you don’t want to kill a program.

This is a very useful utility for terminating stuck or hanging programs. You could, of course, also press Control + Alt + Delete and kill the application via the Task Manager, but xKill is faster to use.

xKill is a free download for Windows. [Via ghacks' Windows xKill blog post]
