Photographer Ken Rockwell writes about taking pictures using the Real Raw format: Film. He argues that using film is better in many ways. His article on Why We Love Film compares film and digital photography, and film comes out looking very good. But digital still has its uses. For example, it is very useful for quick snapshots of family and friends and for shooting for the web. However, for superior quality photos, film has some clear advantages.
So is this just a rehash on the old film vs digital war that has been going on for years? Well, no. Ken Rockwell has used digital cameras for a very long time. He writes about photography and he has a reputation for telling it like it is. All his articles are very interesting and thought provoking. While I may not be ready to give up my digital SLR camera right now, I appreciate knowing what I give up by using it.

I read that. He is right and your interpretation is correct. I like how he puts into perspective 5,000 USD Nikon D1H digital camera from 2002 with its 2.7 MP sensor. If you compare it to shot done on film in this time perspective film wins. So in principle is he is right and I think he likes to upset digital jerks.
